Health at PT: What To Know

Why Plague Doctors Wore Costumes While Fighting The Black Death

Pictured above: vintage social distancing.

We have been working hard to ensure that every aspect of Pacific Theatre – from the box office to your seat – is safe and accessible to you. In accordance with BC Government guidelines and community best practices, we have measures in place to ensure we can gather and perform while protecting audience and artists alike from COVID-19. Below are some of the changes you can expect during your visit:

  • For Suitcase Stories, a maximum of 35 tickets will be available per night – well below Dr. Henry’s 50-person limit.
  • We have implemented socially distanced seating in our theatre. When you purchase a ticket (or a block of tickets for people within your bubble), adjacent seats become unavailable to other patrons.
  • The front row of seats for Suitcase Stories on the North or South sides will not be sold. This is to maintain a six foot distance between audience and performer.
  • Tickets will be e-mailed to you to reduce in-person paper transference.
  • Latecomers will not be permitted under any circumstances, and our concession is closed at this time.
  • Plexiglass at our Box Office counter.
  • Hand sanitizer, extra masks, and gloves will be available and free at the Box Office counter.
  • Masks are mandatory to enter the theatre space.
  • Two socially distanced lines for the north side and the south side of our theatre, to allow patrons to load in one at a time and to ensure no one crosses paths as they enter.
  • Seats labeled with your name(s) so you can clearly see where you are heading in the theatre as you enter.
  • Single-directional bathroom flow, and a bathroom space limited to one person at a time to preserve social distancing. Extra Front of House staff will be present to help mange this system.
  • Thorough cleaning of the theatre before and after every show.

We are grateful to each person who chooses to share live theatre with us in this time. We will do everything we can to reward your trust and to keep you safe and well while you are in our space.
