New Canadians Festival

for Pacific Theatre’s New Canadians Festival

In an attempt to welcome our fellow artists who have recently come to Canada as refugees, Pacific Theatre and Holy Trinity Anglican Church are hosting a performing arts festival consisting of work from our new neighbours.

Performing artists of all disciplines (theatre, dance, music) who have come to Canada as refugees within the past three years are welcome, and there may be opportunities to showcase visual art in the lobby.

Dates: July 27-30 (tech: July 25-27)

Pacific Theatre will provide free performance space (up to three performances per artist) and ticket revenues to artists, as well as one technical rehearsal. The festival will be publicized by Pacific Theatre, and artists are encouraged to help spread word about their own shows as well. Limited rehearsal space is available from Holy Trinity Anglican Church.

Performance Requirements

Pieces must be less than 70 minutes and have minimal technical needs with sets that can be loaded in or out of the theatre in less than 10 minutes. All sets, costumes, and other elements are provided by the artist (we can provide basic elements, like a chair).

Artists will be selected on a first-come-first-served basis, balanced with an attempt to showcase diverse art forms. Please email with the following information:
