Maki Yi, playwright and actor (and Korean immigrant!)
Laura has worked for 8 years providing refugee care at a local nonprofit. Journey Home Community offers housing, holistic settlement support, and relational care to refugee claimants who have fled persecution in their home country and arrive in Canada seeking protection. Laura is trained as a Social Worker and Expressive Arts Therapist. She is drawn to coming alongside refugee families in a space where community and connection foster healing and mutual transformation. Laura is passionate about building a world of welcome for all.
