We are so delighted to introduce you to our new Publicity and Marketing Assistant – meet Judy Madarász! Alongside our Marketing Director Julia, she’ll be getting the word out about upcoming plays at Pacific and helping to illuminate the backstage process here at the theatre. Say hi if you see her at a show or on a visit.
Judy is a multi-talented interdisciplinary artist (videographer/photographer/graphic designer), professional dancer, and marketing-communications specialist currently living and working on the stolen lands of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) First Nations people.
After graduating from SFU with a BA in Communications in 2010 she has spent over 10 years professionally honing her skills in marketing-communications, videography, graphic design, entrepreneurship, and her artistic practices in dance. She also has a background in acting, dancing, and singing in musical productions as well! Notably, for the last 8 years she has helped lead and facilitate spaces for the education and showcasing of African and Caribbean dance forms through an award-winning company she co-owns called KETCH DI VYBZ Production Company. In 2016 and 2018, she assisted in successfully and independently co-producing the first Dancehall Dance Theatre Productions in Canada which highlights the history and culture of Jamaica.
She is thrilled to be joining the Pacific Theatre team as the Marketing Assistant. This is just the beginning and she’s looking forward to growing with the PT company and team in all endeavours to help PT and its community thrive, and to continue to make a positive impact in this world through theatre arts.
