THE SHOWS

MIDDLETOWN

Sept 18 – Oct 6, 2024 | OUR TOWN REIMAGINED
by Will Eno
A GUEST PRODUCTION BY STICKS AND STONES THEATRE

Mary Swanson arrives in Middletown ready to start her family in a normal suburb. But her new neighbours see the surreal in the status quo and the outer bounds of the universe in their local garden patch. As Mary connects to her community via the magic and tragedy of ordinary experiences, Middletown dives into the big questions: what are beginnings? How should we end? And how are we supposed to deal with all the stuff in between?

THE HOBBIT

Nov 13 – Dec 21, 2024 | BELOVED CLASSIC REIMAGINED
Based on the book by JRR Tolkien. Adapted by Kim Selody, with additional dialogue by Tim Carlson and Peter Carlone. Licensed by Middle Earth Enterprises

JRR Tolkien’s first storytelling masterpiece comes to fresh life on the PT stage. When unassuming hobbit Bilbo Baggins opens his door to the mysterious wizard Gandalf, he cannot imagine the saga in store for him. Two performers animate Tolkien’s rich tale in the tradition of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

A DOLL’S HOUSE: PART II

Feb 5 – 23, 2025 \ UNEXPECTED HOMECOMING
by Lucas Hnath
A GUEST PRODUCTION BY WESTERN GOLD THEATRE

Fifteen years after Nora Helmer slammed the door on her stifling domestic life, a knock at that same door. Nora has returned – but why? And what will it mean for those she left behind? Tony-nominated playwright Lucas Hnath follows Nora back into the dollhouse as she confronts her husband, daughter, and the nursemaid who raised her children. Sharp, witty, invigorating.

INS CHOI: SON OF PREACHERMAN

APR 2 – 6, 2025 | BRAND NEW FROM A CANADIAN GEM

Writer and performer Ins Choi returns to the PT stage to share his songs and stories found at the intersection of his faith and art. MEETING

by Katherine Gauthier

When a participant expresses an unanticipated desire, the group must evaluate the limits of their tolerance, trust, and acceptance. The audience joins the Meeting in real time, staged in the Chalmers activity room at Pacific Theatre.
