Get Involved

Pacific Theatre is more than just a place to watch great performances; it’s also a community where you can contribute, learn, and grow. Whether you’re looking to volunteer, audition, join our apprenticeship program, or explore employment opportunities, there’s a place for you at Pacific Theatre.

Volunteer

Pacific Theatre always looks for community-minded, friendly individuals to volunteer as ushers at our performances. As a volunteer, you’ll help out our theatre and get to see some great theatre for free!

We have three different types of volunteer positions:

  1. Concessions: Duties include selling concessions, assisting the Front-of-House Manager, handling cash, and using our POS system.
  2. Programs: Duties include handing out programs, assisting the Front-of-House Manager, and helping patrons to their seats.
  3. Tickets: Duties include scanning tickets, assisting the Front-of-House Manager, and helping patrons.

We ask that all volunteers arrive one hour before the start of the performance. We host an orientation session for all volunteers each September, but if you join us mid-season you will be trained on the job. Consistently missing shifts or arriving late may result in being asked not to volunteer in the future.

Benefits of Volunteering

  • You get to watch the show for free the night you volunteer!
  • Opportunities to make new friends and give back to the PT community
  • Letters of reference
  • Discounts on concession items

Interested in volunteering? Please fill in our volunteer intake form. Have any questions? Email Alina at alina@pacifictheatre.org.

Auditions

We are not currently auditioning for specific productions. If you’d like to submit for future consideration, please send your headshot and resume to Alina at alina@pacifictheatre.org.

Once a season we host a round of general auditions called “Meet PT”. This is an opportunity to meet our AD and some of our core artistic team in person. Watch for the announcement on our social media feed, or sign up for our newsletter.

Playwrights

If you are a playwright and think you have a script that would be a great fit for PT, please email our Artistic Director Kaitlin directly at kaitlin@pacifictheatre.org. Please include a brief bio, a description of your play and a 10-page writing sample, and clearly articulate how your play fits PT’s mandate. We review all submissions, but please allow up to a month for us to respond due to the volume of submissions.

Please keep writing plays. The world needs you.

Directors

If you have a play you’d like to pitch, please email our Artistic Director Kaitlin directly at kaitlin@pacifictheatre.org. Please clearly articulate how the play fits PT’s mandate.

Designers

If you are interested in designing or working behind the scenes at Pacific Theatre, please submit your portfolio to our Artistic Director, Kaitlin Williams, at kaitlin@pacifictheatre.org and Production Manager, Phil Miguel, at phil@pacifictheatre.org.

Stage Managers and Technicians

To be considered as a Stage Manager or for technical crew calls, please contact Phil Miguel at phil@pacifictheatre.org.

Apprenticeship

Our apprenticeship program is designed to nurture the next generation of theatre artists. Each season, we select 1-2 emerging talents to train and participate in mainstage and second-stage events, shadow professionals, attend workshops, and manage Stone’s Throw Productions, our non-professional counterpart. Many of our former apprentices have gone on to successful careers in the theatre industry (our current Artistic Director and our Production Manager were both apprentices!).

We accept applications each spring for the following season’s apprenticeship. Watch for the announcement on our social media feed, or sign up for our newsletter.

Employment

Looking to join the Pacific Theatre team in a more permanent role? From administrative positions to technical roles, we occasionally have openings that might be the perfect fit for you. Check our website regularly for job postings and application instructions. For employment inquiries, contact alina@pacifictheatre.org.
